Shots
For our content analysis we decided to have a look at multiple popular Horror film trailers on YouTube. We decided to record the relation between the length of the trailer and the amount of shots and work out how long each shot in the trailer is on average. We hope to take what we find from our results here will help us determine the average time, shots and length of shots we need to aim for our own trailer to have upon its completion to be successful.

After watching all of these film trailers we decided to combine all of the average shot times and find out the overall average or the mean. After calculating our result came with a mean of 1.24 seconds per shot in a film trailer.
These findings will be put to use for figuring out the basic guidelines for our own film trailer. According to trailer specification and our findings, our trailer has to be a minimum of 90 seconds and have on average 72 shots throughout the entire thing.

We looked at different locations in movies. All trailers take place in different locations. We looked at a good number of trailers and an example of this is Scream 4. Scream 4 had a total of 8 different locations within the trailer. These locations included:

The next film we looked at for the locations was Resident Evil: The final Chapter official international trailer.

We looked at what titles go into a horror trailer on average we believe that we should have at least 6 or 8 titles in a trailer, most of the trailers we looked at however had between 4-12 titles, these trailers were at least 3 minutes or less. The first trailer we looked at was titled Tell Me How I Die.

We decided to make another content analysis to analyse the amount of diegetic and non-diegetic dialogue featured within the typical horror movie theatrical trailer. The first trailer we decided to look at was 'The Monster'.
This film trailer for 'The Monster featured both diegetic and non diegetic dialogue within the trailer. The trailer had a total run time of 2:35. The total amount of diegetic dialogue featured within this trailer was 18 pieces. The total amount of non-diegetic dialogue featured within this trailer was 15 pieces.
After this trailer we moved onto the next called 'The Caretaker'.
