Location Choices
When we were planning our trailer project we had to decide on different choices of location for each shot and scene we wanted to film for our trailer sequence. When picking location choices we had to take into account about the distance away for each of the crew. If the location was too 'out of the way' for all the crew to make it, it would be no good. As this is the case we had to pick very local places so that the crew and even the equipment could be taken there. The locations we picked had to suit the scenes as well as appeal to the limitations of where we could go, we believe the locations we picked managed to suit their purpose effectively.
This location is used in the trailer when the killer pulls the knife from the log and a dead body flashes on screen in really quick shot succession. This specific area was found at the back of Churchdown School Academy on the field. We chose this area specifically as going to an actual forested area would have been too difficult to get the whole team and equipment at one time. We settled on this location as its a very local area and the place could easily be disguised in our shots to look like the type forested area that we were looking for.

This location was used for two different scenes in the trailer. The first scene involved the killer receiving orders through his phone. The second scene involved the one female victim being watched by the killer on the street. This location was chosen because it was very local for the people featured in the scenes to be able to film and the area suited for the types of scenes we were looking to do in the trailer.

This location is used in the trailer when
the killer goes up to unsuspecting male on his phone and attacks him in very quick and rapid cuts. This specific area was found a few roads away from Churchdown School Academy. We chose this area specifically due to its claustrophobic nature and the idea that the alley is out of sight from other people and the perfect place to attack someone unnoticed. This location was chosen as it was very local and suited what we wanted for that specific scene. |
This location was used a lot in the trailer for very dark scenes in-doors due to the little lighting that can get into the area when the lights are turned off. This location was used in the sequence where the killer is sharpening knives and has a victim tied down. This location was chosen as it was in the backstage of the hall in Churchdown School Academy and was very suitable for many different scenes and shots we wanted to do for the trailer. The ability to be able to easily block out the lighting from the double doors allowed us to be able to obscure the backgrounds and random items backstage while also manipulating the lighting of the scenes very well with our own lights.

This location was used in the trailer where the killer has caught one of the female victims on the top of a multi-story car-park. This location was used to add more tension and raise the stakes in our trailer sequence as the victim realises she has nowhere to run once she reaches the top of the car-park. This location was chosen because we really wanted this sequence of scenes to be filmed in this type of location despite difficulty to film there and getting the crew there at once.
