PROPS
Throughout our entire trailer project we used several props, some for costume purposes or some for environmental purposes to help us set the scene or set up the characters aesthetic appropriately. Props when evaluating media products are very important as they are part of the Mise-En-Scene category. Mise-En-Scene aspects can sometimes make or break a film or trailer if they are not suitable or well used. Below is the list of props we have used throughout the entire trailer,
Throughout our trailer, the character of the killer uses a mask to hide is identity, a common trope in the Slasher Sub-Genre. The mask while concealing the killers identity becomes the brand identity of our trailer project 'Forsaken'. The killers mask becomes the iconic image because of how frequently it is used and seen in the trailer.
Throughout the trailer project, the killer can be seen wearing a glove on his blade hand. This glove is used to help keep fingerprint DNA off the handle of the knife should it ever be picked up by the police and examined. The gloves help build the identity of the killer.
During the trailer project we used a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mobile Phone in the scene where the killer receives a message ordering him to begin the killing attempts. This prop was used as a way to kickstart the actions from the killer during our trailer.

Throughout the trailer the killer has a signature weapon. Signature weapons are part of the Slasher-Horror genre as the weapon helps to become part of the killers identity. The killers signature weapon in our own trailer project is a generic thick bladed knife that can typically be found within the home.
Throughout the trailer project the killer at one point is shown to have used rope to tie down a victim as they struggle to break free. The use of the rope shows that this killer is very hands-on in how he likes to kill people.
